The striking flower hat jellyfish (Olindias formosus), which is native to the west Pacific ocean, can deliver an irritating, venomous sting that may leave a painful rash—but it's not typically lethal to humans. Unlike other jellyfish that drift in the open ocean, this jelly is semi-benthic, meaning it spends a decent amount of its time near the ocean floor. It has tentacles all around its bell, which allows it to catch small fish from multiple directions—and the fluorescent tips on its tentacles are thought to help lure in prey.
