The curtain is about to fall for the last time on the self-dubbed “Greatest Show on Earth,” America’s biggest and longest-running traveling circus. On Sunday, after 146 years, the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus will pump its caravan brakes permanently. Other traveling circuses may not be far behind.

Or well, as free as they can be for animals born in captivity. Having a nice little sanctuary to live out the rest of their days with free food and other luxuries definitely beats the abuse they get in circuses.

Positive reinforcement techniques for animal training have been the standard for decades. It's far more effective, faster, easier than "breaking". Animal Rights propaganda doesn't belong in a respectable publication.
Further, you cannot release these animals into the wild. That's a death sentence. We can only hope they end up at certified facilities that can properly care for them.
I went to the Circus, with my grandma when I was kid. I hated soooooo much. The clowns were scary af and the animals.... I remember one brown bear, wearing a skirt, "dancing" with a dog... I still hate this image. I almost cried... I never went to the Circus again. :'(
