So '90s It Hurts: 'Batman & Robin': On the 20th anniversary of the release of Batman and Robin we look back at the 1990s tropes and hallmarks of this unforgettable superhero movie. Don't worry: We have as many Mr. Freeze puns as we could fit!
Oh what could've been if Tim Burton directed the last two movies of the series. The world will never know...
I think the word you were looking for was "unforgivable", not "unforgettable". Batman & Robin (1997) is hands down the worst Batman movie of all-time and one of the worst superhero movies of all-time. Up there with the likes of Superman 4: The Quest For Peace, Catwoman (2004), Nick Fury (1998), and most Marvel movies before Blade. Batman & Robin (1997) is so bad that it set back the franchise nearly a decade, 8 years to be exact. It had a bad script, bad acting, bad casting choices, bad direction by Joel Schumacher, bad costume choices, etc. It wasn't even so bad that it was good, it was so bad it was bad. This is an infamous movie that should be forgotten, not celebrated.
I don't care. I'd take Schumacher's Batman Forever and Batman and Robin over Burton's first 2. I enjoy and own all 4 films on blu and realize they are ridiculous at times but the themes and styles are great.
