Bubblegum: A Detective Story
Happy Friday Bubblegummers! One thing that you may not know about Bubblegum and Braiden is that they are quite fond of a dim sim. Steamed or fried, doesn't matter. Just so long as it doesn't have any unwelcome surprises in it - like a tooth! Has anyone ever had something gross appear in their food before? A band-aid? A fingernail? Tell us about it in the comments section below! Apologies to those that are having lunch...
To Friends, Family, Fans, We find ourselves here once again. After two years, we’re days away from our world premiere night for my latest feature. This time it’s for the crime/thriller (and so much more), Wolf Mother. I’ve been fortunate over the years to do what I love, and to work with some of the most amazing talents out there in indie film. On Wolf Mother, I was lucky enough to work with the proficient Najarra Townsend , Kevin Pinassi and Tom Sizemore. I got to work closely with friend, Nick Frangione, and many new additions to our film family, including, Director of Photography, Mike Testin and Dustin Supencheck. Their work will surely not go unnoticed in this particular film. In the past nine months, I worked with an incredible talent, Adam Eyster; an editor, and Post Super, with a distinct vision that lines up perfectly with my own. These relationships don’t come along often, and when they do, you must grab on and never let go. Making one of these things is extremely challenging. From day one, we all knew we were making something extraordinary; a film that removes the boundaries of genre. We did away with labels - creating a piece that can’t be described in a two sentence log line. It’s an experience - a mood. It’s challenging boundaries such as these, which reshape the playing field for indie filmmakers, and we did it seamlessly. I’m privileged to say that after three feature films, I’m so very proud of all of these projects. Each one was a unique, demanding venture. Wolf Mother is the next step in showing what we’re all capable of. I look forward to seeing you all on June 2nd at the world premiere. It’s a night we’ve been waiting for, and worked so very hard to reach. I don’t think any of us could’ve asked for a better story and experience to share with you all next Thursday evening. Until then, -@erikpetercarlson
