All I Want
The wonderfully talented Giselle Gilbert plays “Libby”, in All I Want. We're so excited to introduce you to her as she adds just another layer of depth to the film! She is set to premiere in the film on June 11 at DWF, check out her Q and A below! Q: How did you become apart of All I Want? A: I became friends with West through theater. We did a reading together at The Pasadena Playhouse, and then...like a year later...I produced this play by Luis Alfaro that we cast West in. He told me about this project (ALL I WANT) and I told him if he needed anything to let me know. A few months later, I came on as co-producer, and then was offered the role of Libby. Q: Tell us, in your own words, who your character is and what made them interesting to play? A: Libby is fascinating because she's intelligent and complex, but also young, and she is often not taken seriously because of her age -- especially by her sisters. I think that the complexities of sibling relationships are so interesting. Libby's relationship with her sisters has been fraught with drama, but also idolization. The baby of the family generally struggles with identity, more so than other siblings, and we definitely see that in this film. Libby has struggled to find herself, and when she finally shows her family who she is...she doesn't feel supported. Sometimes we forget to see how amazing our family members are because we have taken them for granted for so long. We forget to actually see them. In this film, the three sisters finally take a good look at each other and, for the first time in a long time, see each other. The scene in the tent is so beautiful for that reason (it's my favorite scene!) Q: What have you recently been working on? A: You can find me as the voice of Zoe Baker in Resident Evil 7. I've also been co-developing a new play with playwright Megan Breen about the poetry scene in Los Angeles. Check out Giselle Gilbert inAll I Want at Dances With Films on June 11 at 5pm!
