I prefer to organise for convenience. Most read easiest to reach, grouped by series. It would be annoying to me to have series split to have them alphabetical.

The problem with this analogy is that it's not measuring the cost of different operations. Moving a group of books is way more expensive than moving a group of pointers in an array with respect to comparison in each case.
