Country singer Drake White always keeps a $2 bill tucked into his hat wherever he goes. I noticed it immediately when I saw him.
He played an incredible Live at 35 concert on a recent Southwest flight I was on. After we landed, I got to spend some time asking him some questions.
Of course my first question was, "Why the $2 bill?" He replied quickly by simply by sharing a story. His grandfather used to carry around a wallet full of rare $2 bills and was always prepared to throw down a stack of them if it meant he could surprise and delight people he met. Waiters, strangers, flight attendants, grandkids. Drake said there was something that always felt magical about those little acts his grandfather would do. Those little acts left people with a more joy.
Drake keeps a $2 bill in his hat to pay homage to his grandfather and this love for delighting others. Through this, he creates memorable, meaningful experiences. And in so many ways, I saw this translate directly into his performance at his concert. Every show he performs is different and he finds ways (usually with his incredible ability to freestyle on the fly) to leave his audience with a meaningful experience. Just like his grandfather.

I have been doing the same thing for a few years. Leaving a tip with a $2 is memorable and delights those taking care of me.
I recently switched to big old silver dollars (Eisenhowers), as it's harder to miss that it's special. Plus, I can say it's is a lucky one from Vegas (legit), and may it bring the luck all day.
Nice story, great way to entertain your loyal customers and best airline in the business (in my opinion).
But I do have a question about an object in the picture. If I showed up with that guitar case would it be considered 'carry on' or would I be made to check it? Just wondering?????
At family dinner parties, my grandfather would leave $2 bills under the plates of his grandkids. There's something about grandpas and unusual currency. :-)
