[“Wolf-Hunting" Crowd-funding Campaign reached its Preliminary Target]
“Wolf-Hunting Action”, the crowd-funding campaign launched by the Democratic Party on investigating the $50 million payment that the former Chief Executive CY Leung possibly received from UGL Limited during his term has met its preliminary target.
In today's press conference, Democratic Party lawmaker Lam Cheuk-ting thanked the public for their enthusiastic response.
Barrister Senia Ng announced that the first phase working plan of the Campaign includes engaging lawyers to provide legal advice on possible corruption implications of CY Leung, engaging lawyers in the UK to conduct court searches and obtain relevant documents, engaging lawyers in Australia to provide legal advice on possible violation of Australian criminal law, liaising with government officials and members of Parliament in the UK and Australia, liaising with law enforcement agency including ICAC in Hong Kong, the National Crime Agency in the UK and the law enforcement agency in Australia, as well as archiving relevent documents available in the public domain for the public access.
Lawmaker Andrew Wan stressed that the “Wolf-Hunting Action” will be conducted over an extended period of time while a sizeable sum of money is needed to sustain the work, therefore, a continued public support is still needed.
