75 years ago today, Edward Lord Montagu arrived back in Beaulieu after being evacuated to Canada in the summer of 1940.
The sudden evacuation was 'heart-rending' for the 13 year old Edward but the two and a half years in Canada taught him much and he returned to England 'no longer the "Little White Mouse" that had left home in 1940.'
Edward can be seen here in his Ridley College uniform. He would, of course, go on to found the National Motor Museum here at Beaulieu.
