Evolene's incredible story continues to show us why it is SO important to spay and neuter, because less than two weeks after giving birth, she is in heat again.
If she wasn't in our care, she would already be pregnant again, even though her body is not strong enough to support a pregnancy. This is the shocking and harsh reality for cats who aren't spayed.
Luckily, Evolene is in our care, and is getting stronger every day. She was pregnant and in very poor health when we rescued her from a feral cat colony. Tragically, we did not rescue her in time to save her five beautiful kittens.
Although we remain heartbroken about her kittens, we are incredibly relieved that Evolene's depleted body will never have to support another pregnancy. She is getting stronger every day, and will be able to have her spay and extensive dental surgery on Monday. We are very hopeful she will have a full recovery once her painful teeth are removed and she has more time to heal.
One thing is certain: the hard part is over for Evolene, and she will know nothing but love, comfort and happiness in a forever home for the rest of her life. <3

She's looking so much more filled out now, thank goodness. Curvy Evolene!
I hope whoever adopts her has a great catio or something, so that she may enjoy a taste of the outdoors safely, and for once, without having to worry about pregnancy and babies.

After 188 days... This. Is. Incredible.
"To whomever adopted this sweet boy- thank you for stepping in...these folks are miracle workers. How many people would have tried to save this fellow? Ferals are a challenge when healthy, but this guy seemed to have such a strong desire to live. I love seeing him play- a sign of his newfound and carefree existence!"
