This is a Butte in Arizona near Monument Valley, the inner plug of an ancient volcano, similar to Shiprock. I had thought about this photo for a couple of years, but did not know if it was possible, as it is on Navajo land, and I did not what to trespass. I finally looked it up on a map and saw that there was a road along the north side, and it turned out to be close enough to the butte to shoot from the road. This was shot from the road as to not trespass on local homesteads. No added lighting. Panorama of 7 vertical images.
