It's the beginning of a new week, and we are relieved to say that the hospital experienced minimal issues during Hurricane Irma. More than 700 staff and physicians joined forces to keep the hospital fully functional while providing excellent care through trying circumstances, and we cannot thank them enough.
REMINDER: All elective surgeries, outpatient clinic appointments and therapy appointments scheduled for Tuesday, 9/12 will be cancelled and rescheduled as appropriate. Staff will reach out to families directly to reschedule appointments.
As a nurse who worked through this potential disaster....I have to say that the hospital took amazing care of us!
We were kept informed and always felt safe in our amazing building.
We were supplied food, a place to rest and felt truly appreciated.
I did not think it was possible... but I love our hospital even more now!
We were very blessed!
Very proud of and amazed by all the staff that held down the fort this weekend! Your efficiency and diligence in working towards the goals of keeping everyone safe and relaxed while providing top notch care was very impressive. How do I know this? Well, it just so happens that Dr. Perno happened to be sitting right next to me all weekend and I got to listen to the twice a day check in calls. You all should be proud of your success in working as a TEAM!
Thank you JHACH. You did a great job supporting all the staff and families who had to spend the weekend there while waiting out Irma.
